Fresh indie tunes with catchy pop hooks are the signature style of emerging Brisbane artist Katanak. Known for his infectious indie rock/pop groove-inducing earworms that fans of The Wombats, Smallpools and CRUISR will appreciate, Katanak brings colour to your world. Fresh off touring and collaborating with some of Australia's most highly respected emerging and established artists (Quan Yeomans (Regurgitator) and Pete Murray to name a few), Katanak comfortably straddles genre’s grey-area of rock & pop, proving that he can't be defined by genre.

In 2023, Katanak embarked on his second tour of Queensland, taking his music across the region. Notably, he rocked the stages of the Cairns Festival and Rockhampton River Festival, sharing the spotlight with The Delta Riggs. Adding to this growing list of live performances, Katanak supported Pete Murray and secured the prestigious halftime slot at the FIFA Fan Festival during the Matilda's electrifying game against France for the FIFA Womens Football World Cup.

With a spot on the Agnes Blues, Roots & Rock festival secured for the start of 2024, Katanak says don’t try to define him or his genre, as he firmly believes a good song can't be defined.

That's just the first half of the year! Currently recording his debut EP with ARIA Award winner Aidan Hogg (G-Flip, Jaguar Jonze, Hope D), this EP promises to showcase his constantly evolving musical style, capturing the essence of his artistic growth and experimentation. 
 
To date his music has been played on major stations Triple J Unearthed, Double J Radio, ABC Radio, BBC Introducing Radio Solent (UK), BBC Radio nan Gaidheal (Scotland), Amazing Radio (both UK & US), OZ Now Radio and 4ZZZ with Sunday’s video clip added to rotation on MTV Upload across Australia and New Zealand. Gathering praise from Music is My Muse, Happy Mag, LivewireAU and Good Call Live, Katanak is establishing himself as an exciting indie newcomer.
